4th Joe Spooner Cup was held at Rugby Town JFC Kilsby Lane
The competition introduces 11-a-side Football to U11 teams for the up and coming season. 16 teams battled it out with 8 going through to the Spooner Cup quarters and 8 to the plate quarters Highfield, Chapelfields, Keneliworth Wardens, Kenilworth Wardens Juniors Hillmorton, Rugby Town Boys, Rugby Town Juniors and Santos went into the plate with Coventry Sphinx Copeswood Blue and Red, Banbury Alvis Dunlop Cov Jag and Burton going into the Spooner Quarters
The plate produced some fantastic football with Kenilworth Wardens, Highfield Rugby Town Juniors and Santos progressing to the Semis and then Kenilworth and Rugby Town seeing off their opponents to reach the final. Kenilworth thumping Town 4-0 to win the plate.
In the Spooner Cup quarters Sphinx Burton Dunlop and Copeswood Blue progressed through to the semis where beat Burton Dunlop 2-1 and Sphinx edging out Copeswood Blue on penalties.
Sphinx beat Burton 2-1 in the final to lift the Joe Spooner Cup.
The club would like to thank the Referees who officiated for the first time in competitive games and the teams for providing a entertaining days football.
The club handed over a donation cheque made out to SADS UK Joes memorial fund and Tracy Spooner is pictured receiving it from Liam Coulter the clubs mini-soccer Secretary.
