Rugby Town Community Football Club History for Girls Club
 


Rugby Town Girls FC all female club dates back to the start of the 1990/1991 season when it was formed from a single team of 14 players. It has continued to grow and develop to the present day with around 90 player members comprising of groups from U6 to senior ladies.

With backing of Birmingham County F.A. and Rugby Borough we are the first all female football club in the area. All primary coaching staff are a minimum F.A. Level 1 qualified.

2003/04 Season The Club is in partnership with Rugby Town Junior F.C and Rugby Town F.C. and Rugby Borough Council for the growth & development of football opportunities for all. Declan Whelan the club chaiman from 1999 to 2009 worked with the FA to gain the FA Charter Standard award and the club has now grown to be part of the community group of clubs in Rugby from 2008.

Season upon season the club goes from strength to strength with a continued increase in female players and with the support of parents and sponsors. The aim is to ultimately bring top flight women’s football to Rugby but also to ensure that anyone irrespective of age or ability has the opportunity to play football and have FUN!

2009 Rugby town Girls FC, all games will now be played at the top class facility of Kilsby Lane with the junior boys.

In July 2010 after 8 months of talks Rugby Town now had a community logo to move forward with. It did not stop with the badge RTJFC, RTGFC & RTLFC will now wear the same shirts. For the first time in Rugby's history, 3 clubs have come together for the good of the community and bring top class coaching and club membership to over 700 members.
