I would like to inform you that WREP are in the process of organising their annual Boccia competition.

This will be WREP’s 4th annual boccia competition and the event has grown from strength to strength each year. This years event will be run on the back of the London 2012 Paralympic games and we hope that the games will inspire people to come forward, especially for thoise who had now played sport before and wish to try it out. Also, WREP are being supported by Rugby Borough Council through the Olympic and Paralympic Legacy Sport Grant which will give us the resources to make this year’s event the best ever.

For those that have not heard of Boccia, it is a very simple fun based sport and easy to play. Further information about boccia can be found at the following websites: http://www.bocciaengland.org.uk/ and http://www.gb-boccia.org/

I would like to check if your community organisation/group would like to enter any indivduals or team(s) for this event. There will be both able bodied and disability competitions in the team competition (3 players, per team) and a indivuduals competition on the same day.

WREP was hoping to run this event at the end of September/early October 2012. I would like your feedback to what day/time is best for you and your community. Historically, WREP have hosted this event during the daytime on a week day and we have since had requests to host this competition on a Saturday or Sunday. This request is so a wider audience can participate ans those that work during the week can take part. What do you think? Would you be happy for the event to run on Saturday or Sunday this year?

Please could you let me know your thoughts and consult with your groups to identify their needs. I must add that I will organise this event for the people that express an interest by responding and contact me. I will contact all key members of each BME community and other relevant organisations through using a range of methods. I am happy for you to respond either by email, telephone or by post.
